Guptill and Munro are at the crease. Bhuvneshwar will open the attack.

5:04 p.m. INDIA FINISH WITH 337/6 IN 50 OVERS. Lost two wickets in the final over as Dhoni (25) and Jadhav (18) were dismissed by Milne, whos figures read 2/64. But it was primarily due to Rohit Sharma's 147 and Virat Kohli's 113 that got India this huge total in the must-win, series-deciding ODI.

4:55 p.m. Southee bowled the penultimate over of Indian innings to complete his quota. His figures, damanged by a six from Jadhav, read 2/66. India 331/4 with six balls to play.

4:50 p.m. Jadhav is the new man in and begins with a bang, hitting Boult for a boundary off the second ball he faced. Dhoni meanwhile is on 24 off 15 balls, and providing the flourish India needs to touch 350. As of now, 319/4 in 48 overs.

4:45 p.m. India's 300 comes up in 46.3 overs as he hits Southee for a boundary, but the next ball Indian skipper perishes caught at long-off. India 302/4.

4:35 p.m. India 285/3 with five overs left in the innings. Dhoni is on 7*, Kohli 194*.

4:26 p.m. ODI century No. 32 for Virat Kohli. That's not even a breaking news these days. He scores runs for fun. IND 273/2 in 43.1 overs.

THE RECORDS ROHIT BROKE AND CREATED - READ HERE

4:15 p.m. OUT! Rohit Sharma, who was looking good for his third ODI double hundred, has been snared by Santner for 147 (138 balls, 18 fours, 2 sixes). IND 259/2 in 41.2 overs. Kohli on 94. Pandya walks in to join the skipper.

4:07 p.m. 11 overs left in the innings, 9 wickets in hand, Rohit already past 100, Virat about to get to 100. India 243/1.

4:01 p.m. And Kohli is taking care of Grandhomme. Two boundaries in the over take him to 83 and make him the fastest to reach 9000 ODI runs. IND 227/1 in 37 overs.

3:55 p.m. As was expected following Rohit's century, the floodgates have opened and Boult is bearing the brunt of it. Three boundaries in four balls. IND 213/1 in 36 overs.

3:45 p.m. Rohit Sharma reaches his 15th ODI century and first against New Zealand. He took 106 balls to reach the landmark, including 11 fours and 2 sixes. Kohli is on 66. IND 185/1 in 33 overs.

3:37 p.m. Kohli has now upped a gear after completing his half-century, which he celebrated by driving Southee for a boundary. Rohit, on the other hand, is just two short of another ODI century. IND 172/1 in 31 overs.

3:31 p.m. Rohit brings up 150 sixes of his ODI career with that hit over the cow corner, off Santner. Clears his leg and swings his bat. Kohli meanwhile is just one short of a half-century. IND 159/1 in 29 overs.

3:25 p.m. Colin Munro is the sixth bowler used by Williamson. Clearly the Kiwi skipper is fast losing options to dislodge this pair of Rohit and Kohli. IND 144/1 in 27 overs.

3:15 p.m. Milne has replaced Santner on the other end, which means Williamson has his two pacers bowling together. Rohit and Kohli have meanwhile completed the 100-run partnership for the second wicket. India 134/1 at the halfway stage of 25 overs.

3:10 p.m. Boult has been brought back for his second spell in place of Grandhomme. But Rohit and Virat (72) and Virat (39) have it under control and not taking any undue risks. India 127/1 in 23 overs.

3:01 p.m. Grandhomme is proving costly now at 0/40 in 6 overs. Santner meanwhile completes five overs and has figures of 0/24. India looking rock solid at 116/1 in 21 overs.

2:53 p.m. India's 100 comes up in 18.4 overs. First fifty in 58 balls and the second in 54. Rohit celebrates the landmark by ending the 19th over with a boundary off Grandhomme to move to 62. Kohli is on 26 and India 104/1.

2:44 p.m. Time for DRINKS BREAK. Ominous signs for New Zealand with Rohit (51) having completed his 35th ODI fifty and Kohli reaching 24* almost without notice. The pair has added 62 runs so far in 10.5 overs and middling almost everything. IND 91/1 in 17 overs.

2:42 p.m. India 85/1 after 16 overs. Rohit just four runs short of another half-century, while Kohli is lettin Rohit take the lead at the moment. Good ploy.

2:35 p.m. Rohit is shifting gears now, into the 40s and looking good for a big one. The Indian opener welcomes Santner to the crease with a lap sweep for four, followed by a slap behind point for another boundary. IND 77/1 in 14 overs.

2:28 p.m. De Grandhomme begins well conceding just four off his first over and Milne comes back well after conceding a six in his previous over to concede just two in his next. IND 59/1 in 12 overs. Rohit on 30, Kohli on 13.

2:20 p.m. The POWERPLAY ENDS with first SIX of the Indian innings, coming off Rohit's (27*) bat off Adam Milne. Touch short and Rohit pulled it off the front foot. India's fifty up as well, 53/1 in 10 overs.

2:11 p.m. Kohli (4*) gets going with a dismissive shot off his legs for a boundary. If NZ would want Kohli's wicket early, it's in today's match. But the Kiwi pacers, especially Southee, are throwing in a few punches here. Rohit, meanwhile, gets to 19 with his third boundary. IND 39/1 in 8 overs.

2:02 p.m. WICKET! Dhawan (14) almost threw his wicket there. Got it high on the bat and caught. Southee strikes, Williamson takes the catch. IND 29/2 in 6.1 overs.

2 p.m. Fair to say Rohit  (13*) with a couple of boundaries and Shikhar (14*) with three under the belt are feeling in having played out six overs. IND 29/0.

1:52 p.m. Relatively quiet next couple of overs, but Dhawan makes sure it ends with a little firecracker - a stand-up thump through covers off Boult for a boundary. IND 17/0 in 4 overs.

1:45 p.m. A boundary each for Rohit, who cut over point off Southee, and Dhawan, who played the cut off Boult late and timed it to perfection, in the first couple of overs. Looks a good pitch with the ball coming onto the bat so far, but it's still a hard, new ball. IND 11/0 in 2 overs.

1:32 p.m. Play about to get underway as the New Zealanders spread around on the field and the two Indian openers, Rohit and Shikhar, set to open for India.

Quick Preview

India would aim to play with the same grit and gumption they displayed in the second match in Pune when they square off against New Zealand in the ODI series-decider on Sunday.

Faced with tremendous pressure after a long time following their loss in the first ODI of the three-match series, the Indian players showed a lot of character as they put up a near flawless performance in the second game to level the series 1-1.

Captain Virat Kohli and his team thrive on challenges and they will back themselves to win their seventh ODI series in a row, when they take the field at the Green Park Stadium, which will be hosting its first ever 50-over game under lights.

"We look forward to challenges. We spoke about bouncing back, and we have bounced back here (in Pune). We would look to play a similar sort of game in Kanpur as well," said Kohli after the six-wicket win over the Kiwis in the second ODI.

Both teams arrived here on Thursday, giving themselves enough time to get used to the cooler conditions in the northern part of India. (PTI)
